SAPAREVA BANYA is situated in Southwestern Bulgaria at 750 m. above the sea level on the Northern slope of Rila Mountain. Its territory is 180,8 sq. km. with population of 9000 people. The municipality contains many popular tourist destinations and Panichishte Resort, one of the fastest growing tourist centers in Bulgaria like Borovetz and Pamporovo.        Sapareva Banya is known for its cool, clean mountain water, it is famous for its unique geothermal mineral water. Here one finds the hottest mineral water in all of Europe (103 degrees C) and the only active Geyser in the Balkans. The city is only 70 km. from the capital of Bulgaria and 30 km. from the famous ski center Borovetz. You can reach Sapareva Banya and Panichishte resort very easy by international roads E-79 or E-80, and future projects plan charter air-port near Sapareva Banya. The area is unique and with its nature wonders - the Seven Rila Lakes, beautiful mountains, peaceful and relaxing places, fascinating waterfalls and natural forests full of wild life. Panichishte resort is a starting point for many tourist routes including the European E-4. The district is very close to greek and macedonia borders and is rapidly growing as a prefered international tourist and holiday destination.
